Beginning tomorrow, Kenyans will be charged more for Mpesa transactions after Kenya’s leading communications company Safaricom reviewed Mpesa charges upwards.
The new changes which is in response by government decision to increase excise duty charged on service providers by 2 percent will take effect beginning 01 July 2018.
According to a communication seen by Pulselive.co.ke, the increase will be within the 2 percent margin to cover for a similar margin proposed by treasury CS Henry Rotich in this year’s budget.
Transactions less than 100 shillings will still be free.
