SGR Mombasa train makes last minute changes for the Christmas season

The changes affects those who had made bookings this festive season

In a notice published on Thursday, the Kenya Railways which manages the SGR, cancelled an earlier decision to adjust the train schedule for January 1 2018.

The Madaraka Express will continue with normal departures on January 1.

“Daily departures of the Inter-County and Express train from Nairobi are 8am and 2.30pm respectively while departures from Mombasa are 7.15 am and 3.15 pm respectively,” the notice read in part.

Kenya Railways further clarified that the sale of tickets had not been suspended and that it would continue to sell them within the booking window.
