3 things Governor Okoth Obado has done after the gruesome murder of Sharon Otieno

Governor Obado yet to respond after Sharon's family spilled more beans on alleged romantic relationship and pregnancy

In a bid to clear his name from the scandal that is threatening to sink his political career, the governor has reportedly enlisted the services of seasoned lawyer Cliff Ombetta.

The lawyer was present at Rachuonyo Level 4 hospital during the autopsy on Sharon’s body to represent the governor’s interests but was blocked.

According to The Saturday Standard, the governor has also cancelled a trip to Rwanda. The paper reported that the governor is not in the county where news on the gruesome murder of Sharon Otieno continue to make headlines.

Obado was supposed to jet to Rwanda on Tuesday to represent the Council of Governors in the African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) that ends tomorrow.

It is not clear whether the decision to cancel the trip was informed by Sharon’s tragic end hence the desire to be around to clear his name after being adversely mentioned in an alleged romantic relationship with the deceased.

Amidst the storm, the governor has kept silent and missing in action as public pressure piles on the police to bring those involved in the gruesome murder to justice.

The governor has instead opted to react to the weighty matter through his Press Secretary Nicholas Anyuor.

Anyuor has distanced the Migori County boss from all wrong-doings, maintaining that “associating the governor with this incidence (the gruesome murder) could be a political ploy meant to tarnish his name”.

Sharon’s family divulged that the deceased had a meeting planned with the governor on the day she was abducted alongside Nation journalist Barack Oduor.
