Luxury at its best!
From the lobby of the Fedora conference room located on the second-floor, guests were met by the warm staff at Villa Rosa – guiding them towards the conference.
There was also a well-rolled red carpet – perhaps reminding clients that the first-class treatment is not a preserve of the many Presidents who make Kempinski their home whenever they are in Nairobi.
After one or two keep-sake photos at the red carpet, guests were then ushered into the conference room where there was always a waiter at hand to serve you whatever drink snack you wished.
The event started with a warm welcome from the hotel’s General Manager, Aurelio Giraudo, reinstating Kempinski’s promise of delivering the highest standards of stylish accommodation.
Giraudo also introduced the seven chefs who were there to provide mouth-watering continental cuisine. There was his fellow Italian, chef Carmine De Filippo, Chef Wu- the master of Chinese food, Chef Hany from Egypt who served delicious Arabian cuisine, among others.
DJ Klash was on the decks, providing music and collaborating with the event’s Master of Ceremony, June Gachui to ensure the evening was nothing short of fun.
An appreciation cannot be complete without gifts and they were exquisite – Janet Omondi from IBM was the lucky winner of a raffle competition that saw her get a free return air ticket from Nairobi to Mombasa.
The big day’s gift was a self-catered package to the Olare Mara – a glamorous 5-star camping facility situated in Masai Mara that is also part of the Kempinski group.
The best things in life do not come easy, even when they are free, and guests had to pass some tests to deserve bed-room panoramic views of wildlife grazing in the savannah.
Judi Wahinya-Glover- a techie from Oracle, passed a few questions meant to measure concentration and memory. She went home the lucky winner of a fully-catered Sh400,000 trip to Olare Mara Kempinski!
For this writer, the event was testament of the warmth and quality service that makes Kempinski the preferred home for most visiting Presidents and dignitaries.
