Rachel Ruto is no stranger to making bold yet elegant fashion statements, but during the state visit of the Dutch royals on March 18, 2025, it wasn’t just her outfit that stood out—it was her shoes. The Kenyan First Lady stepped out in a pair of brown suede block heels adorned with a gold emblem.

"After being cleared I went straight to my sister's place and that's when I was called," she said.

Next to the body of Akinyi was a note with the phone number of a man known as “Vinny”.

“I will never forget you vinny!” the note read.

Neighbours suspect that Akinyi had committed suicide after discovering her husband of having an extra marital affair.

The couple had a young child who was only 10 months old at the time of the incident.

County commander Titus Yoma confirmed the incident and said the man known as “Vinny” would be questioned by police as they launched investigations into the incident.
