Sonko revealed that he would be mobilising support for Mr Musyoka's bid to State House come 2022 elections.
“I understand the President more than anyone else around here, you can call me the errand boy of the president... we will rally behind you (Musyoka),” Sonko stated.
“I do not need to vie for the presidency. What I want to do is to help Musyoka, our elder brother move forward, to help you until you retire or you become old,” he added.
Community mobilisation
Sonko also insisted that he understands the ‘handshake’ deal and that Mr Musyoka knows the secret of the pact, contrary to a popular understanding that he (Musyoka) was kept in the dark.
He further pledged to use the Sonko Rescue Team to help in community mobilisation in Kalonzo's campaigns.
The Nairobi governor reprimanded Ukambani governors who have been leading a campaign against the de facto Kamba kingpin.
Respect
He demanded that governors Prof Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), Dr Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Mrs Charity Ngilu (Kitui) respect Mr Musyoka and join other leaders in uniting the community.
“Unity is very important in any community. When Raila went to Nyanza with the president, I saw all Nyanza governors, MPs and MCAs. I will make sure that our community is united," Sonko stated.
"I request my colleagues to respect Mr Musyoka. I will look for them because we must unite our community,” he added.
