Truth about Kibaki being admitted in Nairobi hospital - Insider speaks
Kibaki in hospital
Mr Gituku who spoke to the media said that the former Head of State was in the hospital for a routine check-up on Monday.
Mr Kibaki has been battling a recurrent knee problem after sustaining an injury in a road crash in Machakos in 2002.
His Private Secretary could however, not confirm if the knee problem was the reason for the latest visit to the hospital.
“At his age and stature, they can check anything (during routine medical trips), including the hair follicle, the prostrate and eyesight,” Mr Gituku said.
The former President was first admitted to The Nairobi Hospital on January 20, 2004.
His medical team at the time said they found a blood clot in his right leg.
In 2016, the former Head of State underwent surgery in South Africa to remove a blood clot in a vein in his neck.
