Reports reaching Pulselive.co.ke indicate that the accident occured at Kambu area, along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
Confirming the incident, Kenya Police through the official twitter account asked motorists using the road to use alternative routes.
“We wish to caution Motorists using the Nairobi-Mombasa highway that there's an accident involving two trucks between Machinery and Kambu area. Traffic Police are already at the scene and are advising motorists to use the old Mombasa-Nairobi road,” said the Kenya Police.
According to Kibwezi Police boss Ben Chagulo, the two vehicles were heading towards opposite directions when they collided head on, before they burst into flames.
