ODM Nairobi Minority Leader Elias Okumu to be punished for not supporting Imran Okoth during Kibra by-election

Kileleshwa Ward representative is in trouble following claims that he did not show support for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate Imran Okoth during the recent by-election in Kibra constituency.

Elias is said to have declared support for the ANC candidate Eliud Owalo in addition to having undermined ODM's position in the matter involving the Speaker of the Nairobi House.

The majority side of the Nairobi Assembly is also gearing up to unseat the Majority Leader Abdi Guyo following violent incidents against Speaker Beatrice Elachi and MCAs who support her leadership.

ODM MPs funded Imran Okoth's campaign

The ODM party deployed its members of parliament (MPs) and party leaders played an active role in ensuring their candidate succeeded in the by-election including making door-to-door visits to vouch for him.

Following a parliamentary group meeting held on October 1, the MPs are said to have agreed to hold a harambee in Nairobi to raise funds for the campaign.
