A police officer was shot dead while three others were injured on Tuesday night following an attack by bandits in Marti, Samburu County.
Officers were on a recovery mission

Reports indicate that the injured had been rushed to Samburu County Referral Hospital.
The officers are stated to have been on a mission to recover cattle that had been stolen in Suyan, Samburu North and two children who had been kidnapped.
According to the hospital’s superintendent Silas Lodoke, the three would be airlifted to Nairobi for further treatment.
“We received three casualties from Marti, two with gunshot wounds on the right and left arm respectively, the other one sustained abdominal trauma after a fall, our doctors put in theatre for surgical toilet and all patients are currently in stable condition, after theatre we are planning to refer them to Nairobi for further treatment as we have already organized with the right authority,” remarked Lodoke.
County police boss Musyoka attacked
In June 2018, two officers were killed while four of their colleagues got injured during an operation to get back stolen livestock in Daaba, Isiolo County.
Isiolo County police boss Manase Mwasia Musyoka was among the injured and was taken to a hospital in Nairobi after he was shot on the hip.
The others who escaped the attack were shot in the hands, legs, cheek and abdomen.
