During the scuffle police barred journalists from entering integrity centre.
A journalist, who had stood at the gate when the governor was entering, was roughed up by one of Sonko's bodyguards.
Summons by EACC
EACC sleuths summoned Sonko last week for allegedly lying in his self-declaration form when he sought clearance to contest for governorship.
A week ago the Nairobi Governor termed the summons as a witch hunt adding that he will not be intimidated.
EACC CEO Twalib Mbarak, through a letter asked Sonko to present himself at the Integrity Center to record a statement which will facilitate investigations.
“The commission is investigating allegations that you provided false information to the commission in your self-declaration form dated 9 March 2017 submitted to the commission,” Mbarak stated in a notice dated October 28.
Sonko's take
In a Facebook post Sonko stated: “No amount of witch hunt or intimidation shall stop me from addressing the real issues I’m pursuing for the public.”
He added: “I have not been shying away from my past which in several occasions I have reiterated that it should not affect or determine my current status and any future ambition in any way.”
