KCSE candidates who scored an E to get Sh20,000

Questions have been raised over the fate of the many students who failed

The Atheists in Kenya (AIK) announced that it would award a token of Sh10,000 to each of the two top students who scored a grade E in the recently concluded KCSE exam.

AIK President Harrison Mumia stated that the token was in line with his organisation’s goal of spreading atheist beliefs in Kenya, and in stopping religious education in the Kenyan education curriculum.

“This is in line with our objective to promote religious scepticism in Kenya and to push for reforms in religious studies in Kenya.”

"We once again call on Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Matiangi to heed our calls and abolish CRE (Christian Religious Education)/IRE (Islamic Religious Education and HRE (Hindu religious Education) from our curriculum,” Mumia noted in a press statement.

Education CS Fred Matiangi released the KCSE results last week, a move that was followed by loud condemnation of his ministry over the dismal performance recorded by the majority of candidates.
