Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa admitted in ICU in Mombasa hospital

Jumwa skipped the burial of his brother on Thursday due to ill health

Vocal Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has been admitted at a Mombasa hospital for treatment.

Reports indicate that the MP was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the health facility after developing complications upon seeing the body of her late brother Jumaa Karisa.

The deceased met his death in China after falling off a flat in China and the body was flown to Mombasa on Wednesday and buried a day later.

Jumwa skipped the burial at Takaungu village in Kilifi North Constituency but was represented the Kilifi Woman Representative Getrude Mbeyu and Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori.

“Jumwa is not feeling well and we apologize to the family on her behalf for not being with us today during the burial because the shock she got after receiving her brother’s body could not allow her to be here.” Mbeyu told mourners who had gathered for the burial.

“I think all has not been well with Aisha who is now sick wherever she is. There is a doctor attending to her and I will to see her from here,” she added.

Jumwa also failed to attend a meeting for Coast MPs hosted by Kilifi governor Amason Kingi in Kilifi yesterday.

Ill health was the reason given for her absence during the meeting which resolved that a decision to summon rebel ODM MPs allied to DP Ruto was not in the spirit of the handshake deal.
