Babu Owino's reaction after court ordered vote recount in Embakasi East
Bring it on
The vocal legislator said that he is aware that it is in the interest of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to have a by-election held in his constituency.
Babu said that they had already tampered with the ballot boxes used in the August 8, election and they should stop wasting time recounting and instead order for a by-election.
“I know it is in Uhuru’s and Ruto’s interest in having a by-election in Embakasi East. Instead of wasting time recounting all votes in Embakasi East constituency in which they have messed with the ballot boxes, why don’t they order for a by-election because either way they have the judge in their pocket. I will still win with a bigger margin. They can go to hell,” read Babu’s statement.
Babu’s statement came hours after the court had on Monday ordered for a vote recount in a petition filed by his opponent from the Jubilee party Francis Mureithi who came in second in the August 8, election.
The National Super Alliance (NASA) allied politician had earlier on raised concerns of unknown people tampering with Embakasi East Constituency ballot boxes, while he was detained at Parklands Police station.
