They disagreed on live interview
The two legislators, who are friends and have been hanging out together since Bobi Wine landed for an official five day visit, disagreed when a caller asked them which of the two countries owned Migingo.
Wine on his part said that it was indeed a controversial issue but love should prevail because we are brothers and sister and above all we are East Africans.
He added that Migingo residents lived happily until the issue of artificial boarders came.
“I think we should not politicize things and cause division where it is supposed to unity. It’s upon Ugandans and the Kenyans the East Africans we are to live together and not consider this artificial borders that exist,” said the Kyaddondo East MP.
Babu Owino, who did not agree with Wine’s sentiments, insisted that the Island should be given to Kenyans if the two presidents fail to solve it.
“I agree to some extent but you know now Bobi give unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to the people of Mingingo or Kenyans what belongs to Kenyans. So I believe that this issue has been long overdue, it is time that it is solved, if presidents cannot solve it then we better go to the International Court of Justice,” said Babu.
Bobi Wine landed in Kenya on Wednesday and is expected to be in the country until Sunday.
