Orengo’s wife compares her husband to Julius Malema

Kenya's Julius Malema?

Betty spoke in the aftermath of the historic speech delivered by Malema during the funeral of freedom fighter Winnie Madikizela Mandela.

"Mama, some of those who sold you to the regime are here! They are crying louder than all of us who cared for you...Mma, I’m waiting for a signal on how we should treat them," part of Malema's electrifying speech read.

Her friend and fellow civil rights activist Daisy Amdany had called for a similar bold speech by a Kenyan leader.

“It's a good thing set the pace on how to deal with political sell outs & hypocrites who cry crocodile tears at the funeral(s) of real heroes who paid a heavy price for the freedom(s) enjoyed by so many. Waiting to see who picks the cue here in Kenya,” Amdany said.

On Twitter, Betty went ahead to remind Kenyans of a similarly shaking speech delivered by Orengo during the burial of former Vice President Jaramogi Oginga Odinga which was attended by President Daniel arap Moi.

“It was done here Daisy. January 1994 at Jaramogi's burial. But yes, hypocrites need to be called out. Every time,” Betty stated in response to Amdany.

Betty also repeated part of Orengo’s speech following the death of former Cabinet Minister Kenneth Matiba.

"Woe unto you hypocrites! Yes, I say again, woe unto you hypocrites, who tortured and detained this great man, and now come here in false praise of his greatness". ( quote applies to Kenneth Matiba as it did to Jaramogi) My condolences to 's family,” she tweeted.
