Ford Kenya Deputy party leader Boni Khalwale has slapped Opposition chief Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta with a one day ultimatum to avail all the Sh200 billion Eurobond cash.

Speaking in Nandi County over the weekend, the former Kakamega Senator hinted that the Central Bank of Kenya only received Sh169 billion from the proceeds of Eurobond II.

The amount is Sh40 billion short of the Sh200 billion borrowed by the country when Kenya issued the 10 and 30-year Eurobond this year.

“Please Uhuru and Raila talk about national issues; don’t talk about your families alone. Now that you are with Raila, I would like you to tell Kenyans by tomorrow [today], the money that arrived in the country is less by Sh 40 billion, tell us where the other money is,” Khalwale told a charged crowd.

He added: “Is that the reason Uhuru welcomed Raila so that they plan how to steal money from Kenyans. Tell us!”

NASA fallout

The tough talk by Dr Khalwale comes amid looming fallout between the four NASA principals, after the decision by ODM senators to oust Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula.

Mr Wetangula was dethroned from the Senate Minority leadership post a few weeks ago. His job was taken up by Siaya’s James Orengo.

In the turn of events, however, Mr Wetangula on Sunday threw tantrums at Raila Odinga led party, saying that he would not beg to be restored as the senate leader, and instead announced a plan, to take a drastic move that will “hurt Raila Odinga.”

"We will continue giving him small measured and calculated dosage to ensure he enjoys no comfort."

“When we went for the Thursday meeting, I thought my party leader had wanted to bring truce, only to be reduced into a meeting of subjecting me into name calling and humiliation,” he said in Bungoma in the company of ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi.

"What is there to be discussed [during the retreat]? I shall and will not participate in the retreat. I would be subjecting myself to a court of hyenas.

"Even if offered the seat, I will not take it. Wakae nayo, asante. (Let them stay with it, thank you). Let the games begin. We shall give them small but lethal doses," added the Bungoma senator.

Meanwhile, Dr Khalwale last week told ODM brigade to come clean on whether it had joined Jubilee, urging Wiper, ANC and Ford Kenya to form a new Opposition, to put on toes the Jubilee administration. He has already hinted at ANC and Ford Kenya forming a coalition.
