Laikipia County Woman Representative Cate Wauruguru, in an unprecedented move attacked Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru, using derogatory remarks and expressing concerns over the governor’s failure to conceive after her recent wedding.

Speaking on Saturday, Waruguru slammed the governor, telling her to focus on making babies.

“Iko kamama kengine hapa ameolewa juzi. Hata tumbo ya kwanza haijatupatia mtoto lakini anafikiria ile kitu kubwa atazaa ati ni kutuzalia BBI (There is a lady around this place who got married the other day. We are yet to see a child after her marriage yet she thinks the greatest thing she can give birth to is BBI.)” Waruguru said.

The remarks which were delivered at an Inua mama rally which are often disguised as a development rallies but which often turn to political rallies to bash their opponents have since landed Wauruguru in trouble with netizens coming out strongly to defend Waiguru.

Many questioned her interest in Waiguru’s pregnancy and what she would gain from it, advicing her to focus in her own marriage and get babies if she so desired.

Others faulted her for roping in Waiguru’s family and private life in her political speech.

Ronald Ikileng Irukan wrote: “Aisha Jumwa was like that now scandal over scandal, Waiguru has Sons, Three things you can't mock someone ,Children, God, And Better paying job”.

Some sought to know if spewing insults was part of the job description of a woman representative and called for the seat to be scrapped off.
