Why Uhuru’s sister wants Sh300 million from government

Big projects

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s sister Kristina Pratt has urged the national government to allocate Sh300 million for the National Fund for Disabled of Kenya (NFDK) which she chairs.

Pratt said that Persons Living With Disability (PLWD) are faced with a myriad of challenges which included lack of access to key resources such as education, healthcare, among others.

The NFDK spoke during a function where her organisation donated cash and equipment to PLWD individuals and organisations in Nairobi.

Last year, the government allocated Sh200 million to NFDK which Pratt added was not enough to cater for the needs of 4 million PLWDs who live in extreme poverty.
