Court makes final ruling on Martin Wambora's seat

Breaking news

The Court of Appeal has overturned High Court ruling nullifying the election  of  Embu Governor Martin Wambora during the 2017 General Election.

In February, High Court ruled that irregularities in the race undermined the electoral process. The order came after former Embu Senator Lenny Kivuti successfully filed a petition challenging Governor Wambora’s win.

However, Wambora moved to the Appeal Court to challenge the ruling by Justice William Musyoka. According to the Governor, Justice Musyoka erred in his judgment.

Presiding over the case today, Justice Fatuma Sichale ruled that the high court judge Justice William Musyoka erred in law.
