Uhuru nominates former CEO for top Gov't job

New faces in Uhuru's gov't

President Uhuru Kenyatta has nominated former Kenya Power CEO Ben Chumo as the new Chairperson of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).

At the same time, the President nominated former Meru Women Representative Florence Kajuju to chair the Commission of Administration of Justice - popularly referred to as the Ombudsman's office.

Kajuju will serve alongside Washington Opiyo and Lucy Ndungu for appointment as members to the CAJ.

Ndung'u has been serving as the Registrar of Political Parties.

The names of the two will be submitted to Parliament for vetting and approval through the Justice and Legal Committee.

The law requires vetting to be completed within 14 days for the SRC job and 21 days for CAJ positions.
