Top government official ejected after clash with vocal NASA MP

The government official has been embroiled in a bitter war of words with the NASA legislator.

Kajiado county commissioner Harsama Kello has been moved to the Office of the President in Nairobi.

The county commissioner has for months been embroiled in a war of words with ODM Kajiado Central MP Elijah Memusi.

However, Kello pointed out that the transfer had nothing to do with his altercation with Memusi.

Rachel Ruto is no stranger to making bold yet elegant fashion statements, but during the state visit of the Dutch royals on March 18, 2025, it wasn’t just her outfit that stood out—it was her shoes. The Kenyan First Lady stepped out in a pair of brown suede block heels adorned with a gold emblem.

Kello's position has now been handed over to his deputy David Kipkemei who will serve in acting capacity.

Last month, Memusi recorded a statement with the police and reported that he feared for his life after clashing with the county commissioner.

Memusi accused Kello of abuse of office saying that the county commissioner had used his 15-year tenure in Kajiado to enrich himself.

"Mr Kello has overstayed in Kajiado. He has abused his office by grabbing tracts of land in the county to develop himself," Memusi claimed.

The MP revealed that soon after exposing Kello, he received reliable information that the county commissioner called for a secret meeting after which he sent out 'hit-men' to kill him.

"Kello instructed an officer to trail me in Nairobi and shoot me. The information is with the police. This information is from a confidential source, and we are asking the police to quickly investigate this matter," Memusi added.

The MP demanded for the immediate transfer of the county commissioner failure to which he would mobilise residents and other leaders to forcefully evict him from office.
