K24 reports that Kibicho who was addressing the public during the launch of a borehole in Kirinyaga County on 20 September accused Ruto of meddling in the affairs of Kirinyaga county and warned him to keep off the affairs of the county.
In a thin-veiled attack, Kibicho hinted that the DP is responsible for causing political confusion within the ruling Jubilee party and the region at large with his frequent attacks on the handshake deal between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.
"It is shocking that some leaders visit us and want to reap where they did not sow. We as the area residents should reject the confusion being imposed on us." Asserted the PS.
He also called for the complete rejection of the Punguza Mzigo bill sponsored by Ekuru Aukot which has so far been support by DP Ruto and several of his allies who claim it is the only genuine constitutional amendment attempt with the interest of Kenyans at heart.
"We should reject this bill and focus on development. We should strategise on waking up and working hard to ensure that there is food on our tables. However, these people come and waste your time when you should be working," advised the PS.
His remarks come in the wake of a simmering rivalry and fallout between the DP and his former confidant-turned critic Anne Waiguru who has since distanced herself from his 2022 bid.
DP Ruto slams Waiguru
Until recently, Waiguru had been a common figure in DP Ruto’s events where politicians declaring their support for Ruto’s 2022 bid.
However, all that changed with DP Ruto at one point even going after the governor after she asserted that the country was not ready to be led by another Kikuyu or Kalenjin - the two communities that have dominated the Presidency since independence.
In a swift response, DP Ruto took to Twitter where he said President Kenyatta was not elected to represent his community, but was elected on account of being the Jubilee Party Leader that has presence in 41 counties.
He also said President Kenyatta was given the position on account of his competence - even though he was succeeding President Mwai Kibaki who also hails from the Kikuyu community.
"We supported and voted for Uhuru to succeed Kibaki not b'cos of ethnicity but COMPETENCE. He is NOT leader of any ethnic community but that of JUBILEE ,the largest political party with Mca's,Mps and Gov's in 41 of 47 counties and President of kenya. Muwache kasumba ya ukabila pls," Ruto tweeted in reply to a newspaper article publishing Waiguru's views.
