Joho’s high profile team that has sent tongues wagging after meeting Moi

Joho raids DP Ruto's backyard with a series of activities lined up

Joho who has declared interest in 2022 presidential elections was accompanied by a team of more than 20 legislators and politicians when he met the man who DP Ruto failed to met despite a 2-hour long wait.

Speculations are rife that a formidable alliance bringing together Joho, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and politicians from across the country is in the offing.

The governor will over the weekend preside over a series of events in DP Ruto’s Rift Valley backyard.

His visit comes at a time when DP Ruto is facing an uphill task to redeem himself after a recent poll by IPSOS Synovate ranked him as the most corrupt Kenyan at 33% followed closely by Kirinyaga’s Anne Waiguru.

A section of DP Ruto’s allies have also alleged a secret plot to block him from succeeding Preesident Kenyatta.

The ongoing Mau forest evictions and the lifestyle audit ordered by President Uhuru Kenyatta have further weakened the Jubilee party with legislators publicly disagreeing.

Joho first met Gideon Moi in Mombasa in what he termed as a continuation of the building bridges initiative, causing a stir in DP Ruto’s support base amidst concern that the two could team up.

The governor enjoys massive support across the nation owing to his protracted battles with state agencies in the run up to last year’s general elections.

Joho won public sympathy after he was barred from attending several functions presided over by President Kenyatta in his county.

His academic qualifications also came into question with the courts coming to his rescue even as a section of the public read malice and politics.
