Print media journalists have been banned from attending public functions hosted by former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama.

An angry Muthama expressly notified newspaper journalists to steer clear from his events saying that their effect has never been felt.

The Opposition politician further accused the scribes of biased reporting explaining that the Ukambani region had been left out of coverage.

Muthama highlighted two mainstream newspapers in his rant cautioning them not to expect any advertising deals from the region.

Biased Reporting

"There has been a consistent scheme by these companies to marginalize Ukambani as if nothing good can come from here.

"Tomorrow you will see ‘very weak stories’ from different parts of the country as ours here go down the drain. This is completely unacceptable," he stated.

Muthama made good of his threat when, on Sunday, he invited all local radio stations to his function at Thinu Catholic Church, Kathiani constituency and gave explicit instructions to lock out journalists from the two newspapers.

"These young men you are seeing here will file their stories today and the earliest they will be published is next week Friday if they are lucky," he highlighted.
