Malema retweeted the famous video that captured Miguna being violently grabbed by nearly ten police officers who later bundled him on a flight to Dubai.
The video was initially published by a Nigerian news outlet with the caption, "Kenyan Opposition Leader Miguna Miguna being forcefully deported to Dubai!".
Malema recently led a conceited campaign that ended in the resignation of former South African President Jacob Zuma.
After the retweet by the South African politician, many South Africans expressed shock and disgust on learning that such force could be used to deport a citizen from his motherland.
"Government illegally detained and ejected Dr. MIGUNA from his country of birth. 7 high Court orders to present him before court, with the last being that he be released, we're all ignored by the government. Dr. Miguna was then injected and put on a plane to dubai against his will," @Atticusnow tweeted.
Another user, Kalombo, reacted, " What madness is this? A shame for Africa. Deporting an African to Dubai ????... What are these people smoking??"
"Africa against itself is the most tragic phenomena ever to occur in our lifetime," Michael Mokhethi said.
Tunde Akinbode was more blunt, "Africa my Africa. This is almost a movie. Forced deportation of opposition is a new one. Kenya has broken a record".
