Kandara MP Alice Wahome has come out guns blazing, demanding for the resignation of Gender Chief Administrative Secretary Rachel Shebesh who she accused of meeting young men at ninght with ill intentions of misleading them.
Speaking at an Inua mama, Jenga Taifa rally in Tharaka Nithi, Wahome who is the chairlady of the political outfit allied to Deputy President William Ruto warned that Shebesh is headed for destruction, accusing her of abandoning her duties.
“You (Shebesh) are meeting young men at night while you need to be working for the people.” Wahome fired.
“Shebesh is a public servant. You were given a job by Uhuru. The way she is now headed, she is going to destruction.
“Because she is a woman leader, we want to caution her as we ask her to tender her resignation immediately.” Wahome slammed.
The demands come in the wake of rising political temperatures in Jubilee as a result of Shebesh’s remarks alleging that DP Ruto and his allies used underhand means and the backdoor to ‘force’ President Uhuru Kenyatta to endorse MacDonald Mariga for the Kibra by-election.
The remarks are the latest to place her on a collision path with her counterparts.
Shebesh who was breathing fire at a women’s meeting in Kibra revealed that she was at State House on the day that DP Ruto went to State House and witnessed the whole drama on the day that photos of President Uhuru Kenyatta endorsing Mariga emerged.
“Hiyo siku mnasikia ya kweka kofia mimi nilikuwa statehouse. Mimi najua namna waliingia state house na mlango ya nyuma. Mimi najua jinsi waliweka pressure ya hiyo piha mliona (On the day of Mariga’s endorsement, I was at State House. I know how they accessed using the back-door. I also know how they piled pressure for the photos that you saw online).” Shebesh declared.
Kirinyaga Woman Rep adds her voice with embarassing comments
Adding her voice against Shebesh is Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Ngirici who has threatened to crack the whip and send Shebesh parking, alleging that despite losing elections and being handed a position on a silver platter, the later has continued to fight elected leaders from within the government.
“You (Shebesh) should know that we were elected but you were appointed simply because Jubilee is in power. The only job she does is fighting us (elected leaders) from inside the government we created after we were elected. We are going to crack the whip.” Ngirici stated.
