Former Kakamega Senator Dr. Boni Khalwale has lectured city lawyer Donald Kipkorir, after his remarks on Governor Okoth Obado’s friendship with Deputy President William Ruto.

In a tweet, the former Senator said that if the lawyer felt it was wrong for the Governor to work with the Deputy President because of his murder case, he should join the prosecution and give evidence that he is a murderer.

“Convictions of such suspects of double murder, rape & public theft are made (based strictly on evidence en the law) in a court of law and NOT on Twitter. U would do the public a great deal by joining the prosecution team in presenting evidence & points of law in this matter,” said Boni Khalwale.

He said that verdicts of what Obado is accused of were only made in a court of law and not on twitter.

DP's association

Khalwale’s words came after Donald Kipkorir raised issue with DP Ruto’s association with the Governor over who is a suspect in Sharon Otieno's murder case.

The lawyer said that he had no issue with all politicians siding with the DP who happens to be his friend, except for Obado who is facing Double murder, rape and embezzlement charges.

“Have no problem with politicians of all shades including charlatans joining the bandwagon of my friend, the DP. But my conscience is restless when Migori Governor Okoth Obado becomes one of the Principal Faces .This is a man charged with Double Murder, Rape & Public Theft,” wrote Kipkorir.

Nyanza visit

Deputy President William Ruto has been rubbing shoulders with the Migori Governor for a few days after his maiden visit to the Nyanza region.

They also took part in the Dr. Wahome Gakuru Memorial Half Marathon in Nyeri together.
