Kenyans pour in well wishes after seeing Kibra MP Ken Okoth's latest photos while on a visit to Kenyan Ambassador to France Prof. Judy Wakhungu

Kenyans have shared their messages of encouragement with Kibra MP Ken Okoth who is currently receiving treatment for colorectal cancer in France.

The legislator who seems to have lost a significant amount of weight was pictured beside Kenyan Ambassador to France Prof. Judy Wakhungu during a courtesy call to her office.

"Courtesy call from Hon. Ken Okoth (Kibra). He updated us on many issues including his impressive education projects & his plans for increasing them to reach many students. He is also keen to use Sports Diplomacy to expand his students’ horizons," Prof. Wakhungu tweeted.

James Jakadibo remarked: "The resilience and the way this man has accepted his condition is so sweet, some could be in deep denial by now. Honourable am so honored with your determination and courage to serve your people."

Fridah Gacheri added: "Quick recovery Hon Ken, you are a great inspiration to many in Kenya. May the Lord remember your good works."

Numerous other messages posted on the comments encouraged the MP to "keep fighting," assuring him that "our prayers are with you".

Ken Okoth's battle with cancer

The MP is battling colorectal cancer which was diagnosed at it's late stage, stage four, where doctors cautioned it is not curable but could be managed.

He went through a vigorous round of radiation treatment in 2018 which was meant to avert the possibility of organ failure.

He has been in France going through chemotherapy which is known to take its toll on the body, explaining the weight loss.

Various colleagues from Parliament have made the trip to France to visit him, with the most recent visit having been made by Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka and nominated Senator Judith Pareno.
