Uhuru shamed over his message to new Liberian President George Weah

George Weah is a former footballer

Kenyatta took to his Twitter account where he congratulated Weah and promised to enhance ties between the Kenyan and Liberian people.

The Kenyan Head of State also lauded Weah's win as a positive step in the growth of African deomcracy.

"My very warmest congratulations to President-elect . His excellence and persistence have now won him the leadership of his people. Kenya sends its very best wishes to him and his administration. We look forward to closer ties in the years ahead. Congratulations!," Kenyatta stated.

However, a section of netizens, seemingly opposed to the Jubilee government, responded angrily to the President's message.

Some of those who responded accused the Kenyan President of failing to promote democracy in the country, while others went as far as accusing him of interfering in the past elections.
