Matiang’i could be in new trouble after DPP’s latest decision

No one is being spared

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has signed in Meshack Onyango Dehay as a government witness as he investigates the circumstances under which the National Lands Commission and the Education Ministry spent Sh3.2 billion to acquire land that already belonged to the public.

Dehay attracted national attention after he filed a statement before parliament where he admitted being privy to the fraudulent transactions involving the land at Ruaraka.

He had been a close associate of businessman Francis Mburu Munga, the man who claimed ownership of the disputed piece of land.

His statement implicated further alleges several senior government officials including Matiangi, who at the time was the Education CS.

The Interior CS did not respond to the matter while the other officials have defended their actions in the transaction as above board.

It is not clear if these claims of his statement will be used as the DPP is reviewing the case files before moving to interdict those found culpable.

The DPP has urged the public to be patient as the matter is complex and could take up to to six months before making a decisive conclusion on the matter.

“The Ruaraka lands case is one of the complex cases but rest assured the DPP is on the case,” the office of the DPP said on Twitter.
