Moses Kuria's statement on Obama sparks heated debate

Moses Kuria has not minced his words

The MP who is known for not holding back did not mince his words as he wrote on his social media platform how Obama did nothing for Kogelo, Kenya or Africa when he was the president for eight years.

Did nothing

Mr Kuria also criticized on how all roads were closed for him and a body search done to Governor Cornel Rasanga and how his good friend Governor Anyang Nyongo was reduced to a spectator while just giving a seven-minute speech.

Lakini Africans especially Kenyans are a weird lot. Barack Obama was President of the United States for 8 years. The most powerful person on earth, with unfettered access to the awesome American ecoomy and the nuclear codes. He did practically NOTHING for Kogelo, Kenya or Africa. Nothing! Zero! Today as a Eunuch former President he visits Kenya, we close all the roads for him. He then proceeds to Kogelo, body-searches host Governor Cornel Rasanga and reduces my good friend and Lupita Nyongo's daddy into a spectator. The skinny kid with a funny name then delivers a 7 minute hollow speech with a curtain raiser from his sister Auma who sets the stage by giving a scathing and condescending indictment of Luo Nyanza leaders. No wonder Baba Raila Odinga skipped the event, rightly so. Meanwhile the Chicago benefactor goes on to open a US $ 200K obscure centre for God knows what. The guy found Bill Clinton's Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) in place. The same was expanded by President George Howard Walker Bush . Obama did nothing, absolutely ZERO to expand AGOA. Today he launches a US $ 2OOK whatever in Kogelo. Nani alituroga??

Reactions

His post has divided Kenyans who gave different opinions.

Maina NdegwaObama was the worst president. He did nothing for Africans apart from trying to convince us to be gay

Job KariuKuria you are directing your guns to the wrong person. According to our own government figures, 1/3 of our budget is looted... that’s Kinyua saying not me. If I use my form one math, a third of three trillion is one trillion. We are talking 100 billion dollars. In 2014, the total aid from USA to top ten African countries was 54 billion dollars and Kenya received 3 billion dollars Yet we can’t account for 100 billion dollars, In essence if we manage what we have we don’t need pan handling for US tax payers money. Obama does not have Ruto money; he is a private citizen like me. Can you give us idea what you want him to do? We are stealing our own money Boss. Obama’s attending concerts is his private business just like visiting Mara or Serengeti.

Allan MwangiLook closer home, you are an MP on your second term (hopefully the last one) na huku Gatundu ni mashida tu na ulevi na bangi. Kazi yako ni moshene tu.

Jane KogiWhat is our own President and MPs like you doing with the little we have, stealing and looting anything and everything?

Ken YnekObama was under no obligation to assist any African. He was serving the people of United states of America.Moses, instead of throwing shade on Pres. Obama, why don't you speak to your fellow legislators and members of the Jubilee government to STOP LOOTING from public coffers.Obama was president of USA for 8yrs,we did not hear any US govt official or members of congress accused of looting..Please,please Mr. Kuria, talk to your colleagues, Tafadhali ambia hao waache kutuibia.

Carlitoz CyrusAt least he has made a name worldwide compared to your senator in Australia who was found on corruption just few months in the office....... You are just doomed stealing flows in your veins

undefinedNonsense. Obama used American taxpayers' money to develop America. Tell Uhuru to use our taxes well to develop Kenya as well.

The former US President was on a two-day tour in the country and where he launched ‘Sauti Kuu" the NGO started by his sister Dr. Auma Obama.
