In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Kuria said that he was keenly looking to find one that shares his vision and agenda for Kenya.
He went on to say that he had seen a statement by the Democratic Party (DP) on his candidature, insisting that had not yet declared which party he will join for 2022.
Kuria however, assured the Democratic Party that it was among the parties he has shortlisted and its members should take things slow because the process will take time.
“I have noted with concern a statement about my candidature coming from the Secretary General of the Democratic Party. I have never declared which party I will vie on. I am interviewing various parties to assess which one is close to my vision and agenda for this nation. DP is on that shortlist. Let them relax. The process will take some time and they will be notified of the outcome through formal channels,” wrote Moses Kuria on twitter.
DP statement
His words come hours after the Democratic Party issued a statement saying that they had not endorsed Moses Kuria as their preferred 2022 Presidential candidate.
The party also said in the statement that was signed by the Deputy Secretary General Wambugu Nyamu that the MP had not engaged the party over the same, in any capacity.
"Statement from Democratic Party.
Democratic Party of Kenya (DP) has not endorsed Hon. Moses Kuria as it's 2022 Presidential candidate and neither has Hon. Moses Kuria engaged the party about the same. DP has an elaborate process on how to nominate its presidential candidate with a requirement that any presidential candidate for DP MUST be a DP life member, of which Hon. Moses Kuria is not. We therefore urge everyone to disregard any statement out there purporting that Moses Kuria is our Presidential candidate.
Wambugu Nyamu
Deputy secretary General"
