MPs demanding for the arrest of Kipchumba Murkomen

Jubilee, NASA MPs condemn Mukomen as pressure mounts for his arrest

Led by Narok North MP Moitalel ole Kenta, Senator Ledama Ole Kina, former Nairobi County speaker Alex ole Magelo, and nominated MP David Ole Sankok, the leaders condemned Murkomen for his comments linking Raila Odinga to the Mau forest evictions.

The leaders alleged that Murkomen was inciting the locals to oppose the ongoing Mau forest evictions being implemented to save the Mau water tower.

Murkomen had alleged that other people who “came to the government recently through the window” had enlisted the help of other “wakora”(conmen).

“The memorandum they signed was to evict people from Mau, and use this to say those going for 2022 have not done the job of solving this issue.

We want to tell them straight to their faces that the government will not allow people to be used as political herring.” Murkomen said.

His comments stirred Jubilee with Senator Jonson Sakaja who warned that undermining the President’s leadership and inciting Kenyans against his initiatives will not be accepted in Jubilee.

“The claim by Murkomen that part of the MoU between President Kenyatta and Mr Odinga includes eviction from the Mau forest is disingenuous, underhand and disrespectful to the President,”  Sakaja said.

The evictions have so far seen 8860 people kicked out of the forest in the first phase with many more yet to go.
