Former Justice Minister and long serving Gichugu Member of Parliament Martha Karua has weighed in her sentiments, on the deportation of National Resistance Movement’s Dr. Miguna Miguna.
The former MP said that the forceful deportation of Miguna Miguna despite having court orders to have him released, shows the level of impunity in our country.
“Forcefully taking @Dr_migunamiguna to Canada in defiance of a court order to either release him or produce him is the height of impunity @PresidentKE @InteriorKE @UKenyatta,” she said in a tweet.
Karua said that Dr. Miguna is entitled to both Canadian and Kenyan citizenship as the Kenyan constitution bestows that right upon him and many Kenyans who choose to have dual citizenship.
Reports indicate that the Canadian Government made a distress call to Kenya after the self-proclaimed NRM General was arrested and held incommunicado for five days without access to his family or a lawyer.
