The Nairobi Governor cited 'persistent challenges' as one of the reasons he was considering quitting.

Sonko added that unlike his former deputy Polycarp Igathe, he would consult widely before making the final decision.

The Nairobi City boss made the confession on his Facebook where he also revealed that Interior PS Karanja Kibicho had ordered him to take away the Kenyan flag from his official vehicles.

Recent demands by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party that it will accept nothing short of the Deputy President (if not the top seat) only complicate what is already proving to be a difficult decision for a president whose former deputy has made it his personal mission to make him a serve one term.

Sonko, however, clarified that Kibicho's order was not one of the reasons that had driven him to consider quiting.
