Wetangula declares war on Raila as Jubilee governor fronts him for new post

Jubilee Governor Fronts Wetangula for new post as he declares war on Raila

Bungoma Senator has declared an official political war against opposition chief Raila Odinga, vowing to make his union with President Uhuru Kenyatta very uncomfortable.

Speaking on Saturday, Wetangula disclosed that he had regrouped with other NSA principals (Kalonzo Musyoka and Musaia Mudavadi) to teach Odinga a lesson.

The Ford Kenya party leader accused Odinga of betraying opposition supporters and fellow co-principals, adding that they we (Wetangula, Musyoka and Mudavadi) “have regrouped to teach you (Odinga) a lesson”.

Addressing teachers in Chwele during a delegates meeting of Ngarisha Sacco, Wetangula disclosed that Odinga’s decision to meet President Kenyatta and his ouster as the senate minority leader was the ultimate betrayal that would not go unpunished.

"Despite us fighting relentlessly and some people losing their lives, the subsequent conduct of our presidential candidate is not only shocking but a betrayal of the highest order," he said.

Separately, Nandi governor Steven Sang has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to accommodate the three NASA principals who were left out of the Uhuru-Raila deal.

"I also want to call upon our majority leader in the Senate…I am sure Jubilee can cede a Vice- Chairman’s position so that we can be able to accommodate each and every principal of NASA." Sang said.

The governor proposed that the ruling Jubilee coalition should cede some seats to the opposition in an arrangement that would see leaders from across the political divide work together.
