NASA principal Kalonzo Musyoka has revealed what the Government did to him ahead of the planned swearing-in at Uhuru Park.
Musyoka has disclosed that his security has been withdrawn by the government.
"I hope sincerely that our supporters can see what we are going through but we urge them to keep calm," Musyoka said.
Plea to supporters
He urged all NASA supporters not to carry out any act of violence and called on them to carry white handkerchiefs.
The Wiper leader said NASA principals are to hold a crisis meeting in Karen after the government through the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) shut down the major TV stations on Tuesday morning.
Musyoka termed the government's move as a return to the dark days of dictatorship.
The CAK switched off Royal Media signals at the Limuru Station disabling all its transmissions for Citizen and Inooro TV.
Moments later, NTV then KTN News signals went off on its free to air channels.
Citizen TV Managing Director Wachira Waruru has informed audience that they are ‘actively engaging the relevant government authorities to establish the reason for this action.’
“We would like to confirm that this morning the Communication Authority disconnected Citizen and Inooro TV transmission. There has been no official communication as to why this action was taken. We are actively engaging the relevant government authorities to establish the reason for this action. We hope to resume normal transmission as soon as possible.” Read a statement from Wachira Waruru.
