Miguna turns against his lawyer after praising Raila

Miguna Miguna never jokes

Miguna’s lashing came after lawyer Nelson Havi lauded the former Prime Minister in a tweet stating: “History confirms that any referendum question answer supported by H E Raila Odinga and his team succeeds effortlessly. It happened in 2005 when the NO answer prevailed and 2010 when the YES answer carried the day”.

Without outrightly mentioning Mr Havi, Miguna said that a person who expresses support for Mr. Odinga cannot represent him.

Controversial deportation

The Canadian-based lawyer accused Mr. Odinga of colluding with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy President William Ruto in his controversial deportation.

"Memo To Hypocrites: Our legal system is ADVERSARIAL. You cannot represent both sides. If you support or speak for my TORMENTORS, , & those who are in bed with them like , you are NOT on my side. Ethics demands absolute loyalty to your clients," he tweeted.

Siaya Senator James Orengo, who was part of the legal team in Miguna's deportation case, could also be the target of the tweet as he is still a firm supporter of Odinga.

2022 succession

On Sunday, Mr Orengo  mentioned that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) could field Odinga for the 2022 General Election.

“Some people are saying Raila should retire, but we firmly believe he has not accomplished his goal,” he said.

Miguna was forcefully ejected out of the country under controversial circumstances.
