The two leaders are currently at Uzima University attending the installation of Rev. Philip Anyolo as the new archbishop for Kisumu Diocese and are expected to address the congregation.
Also present at the event are CSs Eugene Wamalwa (Devolution) and Raychelle Omamo (Defence); MPs Chris Wamalwa (Kiminini) and Otiende Amolo (Rarieda); Senators Moses Kajwang (Homa Bay) and Moses Wetangula (Bungoma) and Governors Anyang’ Nyong’o (Kisumu) and Wycliffe Wangamati (Bungoma).
The event held at Uzima college in Kisumu saw the leaders share a platform for the first time in the wake of rising political temperatures and dissent in Jubilee party sparked by David Murathe after he maintained that DP Ruto should retire with President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
Rev. Anyolo takes over from Bishop Zacchaeus Okoth who has been at the helm for the past 50 years.
Okoth is credited with steering the Diocese for several decades and overseeing the establishment of Uzima University.
