Govt official reveals that Raila will be arrested during his swearing in event

Raila to be arrested after defying calls to call off NASA swearing in event on Jamhuri day

National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga will be arrested on Tuesday if he proceeds with his plans to be sworn in.

This was disclosed by Devolution Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mwangi Kiunjuri who also added that “such a move is against the constitution and treasonous.”

“There comes a time that one cannot cross the red line. We want to remind Raila that he has crossed the red line and since he has decided to go against the constitution, the police shall have no option but to arrest and lock him up,” he said.

The CS urged the opposition leader to retire from politics, adding that “enough is enough. You will be arrested and be a guest of state in cells. You better abandon politics since your time has come to go home.”

Also present at the event was Othaya legislator Gichuki Mugambi.

Police spokesperson Charles Owino confirmed that they were ready to arrest Odinga and anyone who participates in the event after the Attorney General Githu Muigai called it as high treason punishable by death.

In other news, Siaya governor Cornel Rasanga and Alego Usonga legislator Samuel Atandi have dared the police to make good their threat to arrest the NASA leader.

“I am waiting to see how the paltry 2,000 police officers will arrest 10 million Raila’s supporters that will attend his inauguration,” said Rasanga.
