Otiende Amollo reveals how he was betrayed by NASA

Otiende is one of Raila's closes advisors and personal lawyers

Amollo, who represented NASA leader Raila Odinga in the successful presidential petition, stated that he had hoped to be elected as Chair of the powerful Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

The Rarieda MP stated that he had the right background having served as the Kenya’s inaugural Ombudsman where he played the function of holding the government accountable.

Unfortunately when the vote came, Amollo did not receive a single vote and the seat was instead given to his controversial colleague from Ugunja, Opiyo Wandayi.

The PAC chairmanship position is traditionally held by members of the Opposition and is regarded as one of the lucrative positions in the National Assembly.

On his Twitter account, the legislator hinted that his poor showing in the committee elections was the work of cartels but did not elaborate.

“As first Ombudsman, I did all I could to hold Govt accountable. I had hoped to do so in Parliament as Chair of Parliamentary Accounts Committee, but the Cartels wouldn’t allow. One day, Parliament will serve the People!" the soft spoken lawyer tweeted.

Some NASA supporters have been pushing for Amollo to be rewarded for his exemplary defense of his Party Leader.

Among those who have chaired the committee include Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, Kijana Wamalwa, Mwai Kibaki, Uhuru Kenyatta, Bonny Khalwale, and Ababu Namwamba.
