Ekuru Aukot speaks after Raila's swearing

He says it was a stupid idea and a waste of time for Kenyans

Former Presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot has weighed in his sentiments, on Raila Odinga’s swearing that occurred on Tuesday evening.

Speaking on KTN News, Aukot said that he was disappointed that Kenyans would give attention to something that is of no importance at all. He went ahead to term the whole process as unlawful and of no consequence at all.

“I’m a bit disappointed that we are giving importance to nothing. A process that is of no consequence, that is sheer nonsense and the people who claim to be themselves don’t believe in it,” he said.

The Thirdway Alliance party leader also dismissed the whole process as illegal and unconstitutional and a waste of time.

Aukot said that he is the official opposition leader and not Raila Odinga as is said because Odinga does not recognize the government of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He also expressed his dissatisfaction with the switching off of all major Television stations in the country ahead of Raila Odinga’s swearing-in, but took a swipe at some of the editors calling them biased in the way they cover news stories.

His sentiments came moments after Raila Odinga took an oath to be President of the People of the Republic of Kenya at Uhuru Park as was expected.
