Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo has praised the conduct of Deputy President William Ruto over the manner he handled the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga.
Amollo, who has previously been a sharp critic of the DP and the Jubilee regime in general, noted that Ruto had supported the famous handshake even though he had not been briefed by the President.
The Rarieda MP stated that unlike the Deputy President, the NASA co-principals had failed to take advantage of the peace process started by Kenyatta and Odinga.
"There are four principals who were not briefed when the two leaders met. One took advantage of the deal while the three (Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Kalonzo Musyoka) have made the mistake of opposing it instead of calling for more inclusivity," Amollo stated.
The Rarieda MP was speaking at a morning television show meant to mark the first month since Odinga and Kenyatta started the famous peace deal.
Ruto's overtures in the perceived NASA strongholds of Coast, Western, and Nyanza regions have been seen as part of his strategy to complement his 2022 presidential ambitions.
