Meru Senator Mithika Linturi has found himself in legal trouble after he threatened to shoot dead his wife, Maryanne Keitanny, during a domestic quarrel in their home in Runda.
The Standard reported that Linturi had been questioned by detectives after Ms Keitany made a complaint to the police.
She told DCI detectives that her husband is a licensed gun holder and had threatened to shoot her after they disagreed.
Linturi admitted that he had been at DCI headquarters but denied that she had been summoned to record a statement.
“The DCI is a public office and anyone can go there when they want at any time. If I went to the DCI it is none of your business,” the senator said as quoted by the Standard.
Keitanny was a powerful official in Deputy President William Ruto’s office until 2015 when she resigned after being linked to a Sh200 million scam.
