Ruto reveals what Uhuru did before handshake with Raila

DP Ruto reveals unknown details about handshake deal between President Kenyatta and Odinga.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on NTV, Ruto divulged that Kenyatta consulted him before the handshake deal with Odinga. The DP refuted claims that were being peddled by Opposition leaders of him not being aware of the deal between the Head of State and the former Prime Minister. “The handshake builds on our resolve to unite the country. I was aware of the handshake before it happened and I support it wholeheartedly," he stated.

The DP dismissed allegations of rift in Jubilee since the handshake after reports emerged that some of his close allies from Rift Valley had registered new political parties in preparation for 2022. "I have sat with the president and I have told him that he is the president and it adds no value to consult me in everything that he should do and being the gentleman that he is, he has made landmark decision," he said. Ruto stated that he supported Kenyatta because of his leadership abilities and not for the fact that he promised to reciprocate the same in 2022.He affirmed that no person or community owed him any debt in the upcoming General election. “If Jubilee nominates a candidate who is not me, I will support that candidate. I am not the automatic candidate of Jubilee," DP Ruto.

This comes a few days after a new song was released dubbed "hatuna deni" which seemingly aimed at Ruto in reference to 2022 stating the central region didn't owe debt to any person. The song has been gaining traction on social media and has received mixed reactions from the public.
