More trouble for Chiloba.

According to the Star, Chiloba was suspended due 'procurement issues.'However, Chebukati's decision has divided the commissioners with a section of the team now fearing that they are being targeted. Vice ChairpersonConsolata Maina and Paul Kurgat are said to have opposed the decision while Abdi, Guliye and Molu sided with Chebukati. The letter of suspension will be issued to Chebukati on Monday.

The IEBC chairman wants some issues regarding procurement investigated while Chiloba is away.

Opposition accuses Ezra Chiloba of bungling the nullified August 8th Election

The IEBC CEO has been a man under siege since last year's election after the Opposition accused him of rigging the polls in Jubilee's favour.A few weeks to the repeat presidential poll on October 26th, Chiloba took leave from the electoral body. "This is the first time I’m taking leave since my son was born. He turns two years (old) in two weeks’ time,” he said at the time. The IEBC CEO resumed work in January but reports indicate that he has not been on good terms with Chebukati. Meanwhile, the electoral commission is gearing itself to conduct boundaries delimitation and the new developments could hinder the process.
