In the changes that were made by Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho, 70 Deputy County Commissioners have been transferred.
Among those who have been transferred in the reorganization at the powerful ministry is Patrick Meso who has been moved to Mathira.
This is the latest reshuffle in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration that is aimed at boosting performance.
In May, several changes were announced with Baringo Senator Gideon Moi’s wife Zahra being re-appointed to be a Member of the Board of Tourism Research Institute but declined the appointment.
“In exercise of powers conferred by section 54 (I) (h) of the Tourism Act, 2011, the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife re-appoints Zahra Bahlewa Moi to be a member of the Board of Tourism Research Institute for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 1st June, 2019,” said Gazette Notice No. 4362.
In other appointments, veteran politician Franklin Bett was appointed Chairman of the Agricultural Finance Corporation. Former Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru was appointed Chairman of the Board of the Kenya Investment Authority by President Uhuru.
Former Kitui Governor Julius M. Malombe was appointed Chairperson of the Kenya Water Towers Agency as former Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo was appointed Chairperson of the Board of Kenyatta National Hospital.
Echesa kicked out, Magoha makes debut
Earlier this year, the President home the then Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa in a mini Cabinet reshuffle just days after reading the riot act to his government in the wake of massive corruption.
Echesa was replaced with the then Education CS Amina Mohamed with George Magoha making his debut in cabinet in the Education docket in an executive order released on 01 March 2019.
Also dismissed from her post is Information Principal Secretary Fatuma Hirsi.
