Fed the hungry, helped the needy, and played football: the Waziri Super Cup charity sports tournament was held in Webuye

The reliable bookmaker company 1xBet became the sports festival's general sponsor and helped the low-income population.

The Waziri Super Cup, a charity tournament with a 200,000 KES total prize pool, was held from December 26 to 31 in Webuye, Bungoma county. 24 teams competed in the three most popular sports - football, basketball, and rugby. Also, as part of the tournament, 1xBet allocated funds to support the needy and helped to provide jobs for 24 people.

“We opened a car wash and provided jobs for 24 guys, fed 3,000 families, bought bread and water for all the quarterfinalists, and donated hygiene kits to 1,500 girls. Thanks for the help in organizing the Waziri Super Cup and implementing our social project - the Webuye residents will never forget this!” Salim Waziri, founder of the tournament, spoke about the work done.

The final matches attracted over 4,000 spectators and were held in an atmosphere worthy of Kenya's main sporting events. The participants and fans

received unforgettable emotions from the afterparty and road show after the competition and celebrated the New Year on the football pitch.

It is symbolic that 24 people who got jobs at the car wash were captains of the squads taking part in the tournament. Workers will be changed every 3 months, so all team members can provide for themselves and their families.

“We are pleased that the Waziri Super Cup has become a real sports festival and fulfilled an important social mission. 1xBet will continue to support Kenya's ambitious sports strategy and focus on projects for low-income people. We hope that our initiative will become an example for other companies,” said the 1xBet director, Brian Kyengo Hillary.

It should be noted that both amateurs and professional players took part in the tournament. The Finnish HFK Helsinki defender, Сollins Ichenje, reached the quarterfinals with Muslim, while Malaha FC featured Victor, who plays for Ulinzi Stars from the Kenya Premier League finished in 3rd place after losing out in the semi finals.

The prizes and the total 200,000 KES prize pool were distributed as follows:
