Alego Usonga Member of Parliament Samuel Atandi has for the first time asked Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich to resign.
The CS was grilled by Directorate of Criminal Investigations detectives at their headquarters for two days on what is believed to be the Sh38 billion Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal.
MP Atandi argued that the scandals are enough to merit resignation and in case he refuses to resign, then termination by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"I want to be the first person to call on Rotich to resign. Just as I urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to sack Rashid Echesa as Sports CS, I want to urge him to fire Rotich.
"Mr Rotich must just be fired. This dam scandal is his scandal," the legislator declared.
Atandi further revealed details of an alleged wrongdoing by the Treasury boss and a company he named as HEKIRO.
PS Kamau Thugge to meet with DCI
According to the Daily Nation, Treasury Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge is likely to be the next ministry official to be questioned by investigators.
"The PS is the ministry's accounting officer and he needs to account for what has been issued to us before we finalize the investigations," a source is said to have disclosed.
Rotich is said to have been tasked with responding to questions on his interactions and correspondence with an Italian company CMC di Ravenna.
The company was allegedly paid a sum of Sh7.8 billion 14 months ago for the construction works but has since sought protection from debtors at an Italy court.
